John Won his tenth Funny Car Driving title during the Winson Finals at Pomona. One more year and John will have won every season but 94 in the 90's
John wrapped up his seventh Funny Car Driving title at the Revell Nationals, with a loss to Al Hoffman in the final round.
Came into the Matco Supernationals and lost to eventual Event winner Dean Skuza.
After a win at the invitational John comes to the Fram Nationals and loses in the final round to Randy Anderson. In final round action John lit up the tires about 200 feet out and lost the race in a pedal attempt. Randy was able to run a very clean lap on his way to a first win in the nitro series.
